I was commissioned by Dynamic Reflection to create artwork for an album cover for one of their artists named Viels – 'Distorted Realities'.

They wanted to capture an individual who perceives themselves a certain way, yet when faced with a mirror, encounters a different reality.

This misguided perception within the subconscious, leading to an alternate facet or perspective of the world.

The idea to visualise a distorted reality of an individual is a hard one. Every person experiences it in a different way.

We settled on creating a visual that embodied calmness within the storm. Placing the individual in a calm environment. But given the reflection in the water, it seems otherwise. The water mirrors the distortion within the subconscious. Creating a other perspective on the surrounding reality.
